A phone or compatible mobile terminal is mounted on the reader, while the XT5002 provides professional UHF RFID and barcode data capture through an ergonomic pistol-grip form factor.
With BLE 5.0 and USB 2.0 HID connectivity, the reader combines mobile application flexibility with high-speed UHF RFID performance, helping teams handle stocktaking, item search, receiving, shipping and verification without relying on a fully integrated Android handheld terminal.

Unlike an all-in-one handheld computer, the XT5002 works as a UHF RFID sled reader: the smartphone or mobile terminal is mounted on the reader and used for the business application, while the sled provides RFID reading, barcode scanning, trigger control and battery power for data-capture operations.
BLE 5.0 supports wireless communication with the mobile device, while USB 2.0 HID provides an additional driver-free interface for compatible workflows.

The XT5002 uses the third-generation X3M1 RFID reader chip with up to 33 dBm transmit power, receiver sensitivity of ≤ -84 dBm and a 3.5 dBi circularly polarized antenna.
Its combination of long-range reading and high tag throughput makes the reader suitable for apparel inventory counting, warehouse verification and other workflows where teams need to identify many RFID-tagged items quickly.

An RFID sled reader is a mobile RFID data-capture device designed to work with a smartphone or mobile terminal. The phone runs the application while the sled provides UHF RFID reading and, depending on configuration, barcode scanning.
